Cinema and Beyond, Alexander Cohen

This page contains the links to a series of lecture notes from my Cinema and Beyond seminar given Fall semester 1993-1996 here at the University of California at Berkeley. A warning: these are not finished papers, only lecture notes, I am making them available because many people have requested access to them. I hope to be revising them in the near future. They will be part of a chapter of my forthcoming book Silicon Aesthetics.

A note about these papers: they contain gif files which should be accessible to any computer you may be running mosaic on. They also contain links to QuickTime clips which I've optimized to run on both the Macintosh and Windows platforms (in the case of the latter machines, you will need QuickTime for Windows).

These images and film clips are used here purely for educational and critical use, they constitute "Fair Use."
